I think the MTV wordmark is appropriate for what the TV station advertises itself as. The wordmark uses two different typefaces. One that is bold and wide and one that is lighter and more carefree. The wordmark is unique and modern. I think the contrast of colors and fonts standout to the age group MTV is trying to attract.
I think the wordmark for NIKE’s logo represents what the brand is selling and is appropriate for who the brand is marketing to their products to. NIKE is a sports brand and the big bold black letters are simple, easy to recognize, and stand out. Also, the famous NIKE symbol under the wordmark leads your eye from the start of the word to the end of the word.
The Walkman wordmark is so unclear and very hard to read. The font
they chose does not represent what the brand is advertising. I am more
focused on the two inkblots above the word than the actual brand itself.
The word Walkman is hard to look at in that font , and i think it is
