Canada’s Walk of Fame redesigned their logo to incorporate more maple leaves in their star. The image is incised into Toronto sidewalks to celebrate Canadians who “have excelled in music, sport, film, television, as well as the literary, visual, performing arts, science and innovation.” This blog argues that the new typeface is a little strong and takes away from the star-leaf formation but I think it fares perfectly to show elegance and respect. The light gray color detracts from the strong statement of a serif, creating an elegant balance between image and text.
