Tu/Th 5:00–6:20 | section FIVE | intro to graphic design | Renée Stevens

One website I hate is for the nonprofit that I work for over the summer, Food, Friends, and Fun. The program itself is great, it uses high school and college age kids to bring food to kids in parks at our local city. We get to do a lot of mentoring and I’ve seen first hand how sad it is when the one sandwich I give a kid is the only thing they eat all day. Unfortunately, the website for FFF is terrible. I wanted to do it for this project but it lacks any substantial content, and the logo is bad. The header has nothing to do with the program and considering all of the great pictures there could be of workers interacting with kids, it seems like a really impersonal choice.

One website that I LOVE (and use often) is http://www.icantfindmyphone.com. When you can’t find your phone, you put your number in and the website calls it for you. The design is very simple but creative and the typography is just beautiful. I love it to death.
