Dear Graphics 217,
We had fun, right? The critiques, the hours in the lab, the tears shed from Edwin’s perfect alignment, it was all worth it – every 5-6:20 TuTh were some of my favorite moments in Newhouse and at Syracuse U. Beyond the grids, the bleeding and even the leading, my life (and resume) has benefited quite a bit from this dear course. What a semester we’ve seen too! Since January, there has been revolutions, regime change, elections, earthquakes, tornados, tsunamis, snow till April, birth certificates, and then we got Osama. Then there’s all the things that happened in our own lives – finding love, losing love, making a magazine – I’d say this has been one of the greatest semesters and this class was the anchor to that thought. Discussions on design grew into analysis of 21st century media and culture, and transitive conversations like this are what get me out of bed in the morning and into a part of jorts*
Either way, thanks for teaching me the skills necessary for what would have passed for total nerdom like 15 years ago.
I think, if anything, the people helped make this course what it was – so thank you…
and you’re welcome Edwin.
